What is the Wii Sensor Bar?

The Wii sensor bar is that little bar that goes on the top or the bottom of your TV. It is the epicenter of your Wii system, it controls the movement on the screen depending on how you move the remote.

It is probably the most important piece of the Wii system, with out it, you can't do much.

Figuring out how to fix Wii sensor bar problems is, by far, the most important thing you can do for yourself and your Wii system. You can buy new sensor bars at any major retail store, but why buy when you can fix? Isn't that the "mans motto"?

Some things to consider

I'm a computer guy. I enjoy fixing computers, so a lot of what I'm about to tell you comes from that.

First, you are going to need a small screw driver set. You can go to wally world and pick one up, usually they are called "jewelers screwdrivers" or "precision screwdrivers". You will know them when you see them. They are small screw drivers that are usually in a plastic case. These are going to be used to open the Wii sensor bar, if you need to that is.

Second, you are going to need some sort of ESD protection. ESD is Electro Static Discharge. Believe it or not, any small bit of electrostatic can destroy your system. Think about it, do you have carpet in your home? Yes...? Then you can totally destroy your Wii sensor bar. Again, this comes from me being a total computer nerd. If you don't use ESD protection, one spark (enough to see, hear, or feel) is enough voltage to destroy something. ESD is very, very important.

Lastly, I'm a guy, and I don't like to admit it but, we all need directions. Make sure you have directions before you start tearing things apart. See if you can find a schematic. It might be hard, I know Nintendo doesn't like to post things like this, but I'm sure you can find one if you really want to. Use your mind!

Learning how to fix Wii sensor bar problems is not the hardest thing in the world to do. Remember, you wont be able to do everything, but sending it back should be the last option!

Have you fixed any Wii problems?
